Location: Haltwhistle area
An elderly male was reported missing in the Haltwhistle area. He had been last seen in the Milecastle Inn the previous evening. Due to the urgency to locate the vulnerable male, Northumbria Police requested the assistance of ourselves and North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team.
Initial scenarios and search plans were discussed with the Police Search Adviser. Our drones were to be deployed to overfly the immediate area around the point last seen and crewed vehicles were to search the remote rural roads and tracks in the area.
Thankfully as our Duty Controller was deploying our resources, the missing gentleman was found, safe and well. A good outcome for all concerned.
The incident involved 4 Team members for 1 hour.
