Northumbria Police requested advice and support from ourselves and North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team in regards to a high risk missing person on Tuesday evening. A male in his mid-70s and living with dementia had been reported missing.
Our Duty Controller provided advice to the Police accordingly and it was agreed at that stage no further action from #MountainRescue was required. The situation was monitored until later in the evening when the Police confirmed the male had been located, safe and well, in the city centre of Newcastle.
A good outcome for all concerned.
The incident involved four Team members for 1.5 hours.
