A Northumbria Police Search Adviser contacted our Duty Controller last Thursday to request support in an ongoing missing person enquiry. The missing person had been reported missing on 21 August.
It was agreed that North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team, Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team, Search And Rescue Dog Association England and ourselves would conduct detailed on the ground searches on Saturday. Sadly a body was located by one of the search dog teams.
Our thoughts are with the missing person’s family and friends at this difficult time.
The incident involved 9 Team members for 6 hours.
