Date: 18 February 2018
Location: Hartburn, near Morpeth
North of Tyne MRT and ourselves were called out yesterday afternoon to assist the North East Ambulance Service and other agencies involved in an incident near Hartburn. The technical rope rescue skills of the MRTs were requested to help access a young child who had fallen 40 feet down a steep/vertical bank to the riverside.
Thankfully whilst en-route we were notified that an alternative route into the child’s location had been found and that the child had only suffered minor injuries. The teams were duly stood down.
The incident involved 21 Team members for 25 minutes.
